We are looking for an Enterprise Software Engineer based in Latin America to work on a long-term project for one of our clients, an online video startup based in Los Angeles, California. Our client is the leading free streaming television service in the US. They are defining the future of television, delivering over 100 live, linear channels, in a lean-back experience and thousands of hit movies and television on demand. Its apps are available across all top mobile (iOS, Android), web, and connected TV devices (Roku, Apple TV, Playstation, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Vizio, Samsung, and more).
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data intensive gRPC and REST APIs in Go and Node.js
- Refactor legacy Node.js services into idiomatic Go, improving performance and stability.
- Build and operate Kafka pipelines for high throughput event streaming, including producer and consumer logic, schema management, and monitoring.
- Containerize and deploy Go microservices on Kubernetes (EKS and GKE), using AWS and GCP services to build resilient, cost-effective systems.
- Contribute to architecture reviews with practical feedback on scalability, fault tolerance, and cost.
- Review code, mentor junior engineers, and champion best practices in testing, CI/CD, and security.
- Partner with Product, Program Management, QA, and other teams to align delivery with business goals.
- Prototype emerging technologies, including AI-assisted tools, to build and scale large platforms and workflows.
Requirements
- Advanced Level of English.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering, including owning backend services in production.
- 3+ years building production, highly scalable Go services, with a solid grasp of concurrency, profiling, and performance tuning.
- Deep mastery of 1 or more programming languages
- Experience designing high performance gRPC and REST services, including protobuf contracts and API versioning.
- Experience building Kafka or event streams and connected apps, including schema evolution, topic design, ACLs, consumer groups, offset handling, and delivery guarantees.
- Production experience running services on Kubernetes in AWS (EKS) or GCP (GKE), and comfort working across both clouds.
- An AI-first engineering workflow. You use agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc) daily to plan, write, test, refactor, and review code. You can explain how you keep quality high: writing clear specs, giving agents the right context, and verifying their output through tests and reviews rather than vibes.
Bonus Points
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related fields.
- Shipped LLM-powered features to production.
- Built or integrated MCP servers or other agent tooling to extend AI agents' capabilities.
- Designed evaluations and guardrails for AI features, such as test datasets, regression checks, prompt-injection, and HITL (human in the loop) review.
- Shipped high quality UI/UX designs to production.
- Experience with Node.js/TypeScript, Express, and React.
- Experience with Helm, Terraform, and enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with Redis, MongoDB sharding, or ETL pipelines.
