Job summary

GVW Group seeks a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to establish and maintain the enterprise’s vision, strategy, and program to protect information assets and technologies. The CISO leads risk mitigation, compliance, and incident response across the organization.

The role reports to the CFO, with location options in Birmingham, AL or Chicago, IL; the position is onsite and requires strategic security leadership and collaboration with senior management and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC are highly desirable.
• 10+ years in information security, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an enterprise-wide information security strategy and roadmap.
• Advise senior management and the Board on cybersecurity risks, compliance, and threats.
• Oversee security operations, including incident response, audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, ISO 27001 and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead security for cloud infrastructure, DevSecOps, and third-party vendors.
