  • Preferred CPHRM certification or knowledge of risk management components.

Position is full-time, hybrid work. Candidates must have the ability to be on Caron Wernersville campus 3 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Enterprise Risk Manager will manage the Risk Management Program, including loss protection, claims management, insurance, and incident reporting systems.
  • Develops internal processes to ensure information related to risk is identified and disseminated to stakeholders for incorporation into business decisions.
  • Manage the iSight database for incident reports, complaints, accommodations and risk management. Ensure Risk Analysts investigate and follow-up with appropriate individuals / departments on all incidents for every Caron location. Ensure follow-up documentation is complete and appropriate.
  • Report sentinel events and state mandated reportable incidents to the appropriate accreditation and licensing agencies.
  • Conduct all root cause analysis (“RCA”) for high-risk incidents and sentinel events for every Caron location. Develop plans for improvement and performance measures with assistance from Quality Department to address any areas identified through the RCA as needing improvement. Ensure all improvement actions resulting from an RCA are completed.
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor the performance of processes that involve risk or that may result in serious adverse incidents. Conduct proactive risk assessments including failure mode and effects analysis, system analysis, and other tools.
  • Facilitate system improvements to reduce the probability of occurrence of future incidents and to mitigate risk for the organization.
  • Review and provide recommendations to leadership on data analysis completed by the Risk Analyst regarding incident reports, near misses, safety tours and potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Manage and oversee the Safety and Emergency Preparedness Program (EPP) for every Caron location including oversight and facilitation of the Safety Committee, emergency preparedness policies, safety policies, emergency drills, and safety/EPP trainings.
  • Chair and manage the Safety Committee including facilitation of monthly meetings, agendas, minutes and all necessary follow-up.
  • Ensure Risk Analysts conduct, document and follow-up on emergency preparedness drills in collaboration leadership at each Caron location.
  • Conduct staff orientation and other trainings in Safety, Risk Management and Emergency Preparedness.
  • Conduct claims investigations, including coordinating investigations with claims adjusters, legal, etc.; review medical records documentation, policies/procedures, interviews staff, etc. and develops comprehensive claims documentation file.
  • Coordinate the annual risk and liability insurance update for all Caron locations, including the completion of insurance applications.
  • Acts as liaison with risk and liability insurance contractors for all questions and in all matters. Complete follow up on insurance carrier reviews and recommendations

  • Light lifting up to 20 pounds (manuals, notebook computers, LCD, etc.)
  • Requires close visual acuity, analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer terminal
  • Experience, Education, and Qualifications:

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience in risk management, safety or equivalent experience in field of healthcare.
  • Have working knowledge of the components of a Risk Management Program including risk identification, risk analysis/assessment, mitigation/loss protection, and claims management or CPHRM certification preferred.
  • If in recovery, 1-year continuous sobriety preferred.
  • Successful completion of an OSHA certification training within 1 year of employment.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Organizational skills and multitasking ability
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-through
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate with employees of all levels
