Job summary

Coforge in Indianapolis is seeking a hands-on Enterprise / Principal Architect to lead enterprise-wide architecture for Pharma & Life Sciences clients. The role demands 15+ years of experience, deep domain knowledge, and strong capabilities in enterprise and solution architecture within regulated environments.

You will shape complex transformation programs, drive modernization and cloud initiatives, and ensure governance across programs, platforms and data.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technology leadership in Enterprise/Solution Architecture
• Pharma/Life Sciences domain experience preferred across multiple capabilities

Coforge is looking for a hands‑on Enterprise / Principal Architect to provide enterprise‑wide architecture leadership for our Pharma & Life Sciences clients.

We are seeking a senior technology leader with 15+ years of experience, combining strong Pharma/Life Sciences domain knowledge, Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture expertise, with the ability to shape complex transformation programs across regulated environments.

What You’ll Drive:

• Enterprise Architecture: Define enterprise technology strategy, current and target-state architectures, capability maps, reference architectures, standards and multi-year transformation roadmaps.
• Business & Technology Alignment: Translate business priorities across R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial into enterprise technology capabilities and architecture.
• Hands-on Solution Architecture: Architect complex enterprise solutions, evaluate technology options, define architectural patterns and work closely with engineering teams from solution design through implementation.
• Architecture Governance: Establish enterprise architecture principles, technology standards, guardrails and governance across programs and platforms.
• Enterprise Modernization: Assess complex application landscapes and define pragmatic modernization, rationalization and transition architectures.
• Cloud & Integration: Provide architectural direction across Cloud, APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, enterprise integration and modern digital platforms.
• AI, GenAI & Agentic AI: Provide enterprise-level architectural direction for AI/ML, GenAI and Agentic AI, including how AI agents integrate with enterprise applications, workflows, knowledge and data while maintaining appropriate governance and controls. Coforge's current enterprise AI strategy explicitly includes deploying Agentic AI at scale with governance, transparency and control.
• Data: Ensure architecture appropriately considers data interoperability, quality, integrity, governance and analytics. Deep Data Architecture specialization is not required.
• Regulated Architecture: Incorporate GxP, CSV/CSA, data integrity, security, privacy, validation and applicable regulatory requirements into architecture decisions.
• Partner with business, engineering, security, quality, regulatory and compliance stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, secure and appropriate for regulated environments.
• Provide architecture leadership across consulting, solutioning, pre-sales and delivery, maintaining continuity from strategy through execution.

Experience & Skills:

• 15+ years of overall technology experience, with significant experience in Enterprise / Principal / Solution Architecture roles.
• Strong experience in Pharma, Biotech or Life Sciences, preferably across multiple business capabilities.
• Proven experience defining enterprise technology strategy, target-state architectures, reference architectures and transformation roadmaps.
• Strong hands-on Solution Architecture experience across complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with large-scale application modernization, cloud transformation, integration and digital transformation programs.
• Good understanding and practical exposure to AI/ML, GenAI and Agentic AI architectures.
• Broad architectural understanding across Applications, Cloud, Integration, Data, AI and Security, without needing to be a specialist in every area.
• Working understanding of GxP, CSV/CSA, data integrity and regulated Life Sciences technology environments.
• Strong experience engaging CIO/CTO organizations, business leaders, Enterprise Architects and engineering teams.
• Ability to operate comfortably between enterprise strategy, hands-on architecture and technology execution.

A hands-on Enterprise Architect with strong Pharma/Life Sciences experience and a broad technology lens who can connect business capabilities, applications, platforms, cloud, integration, data, security and emerging technologies into a coherent enterprise architecture.

The person should understand how GenAI and Agentic AI fit within the broader enterprise architecture, rather than being purely an AI Architect, and be able to bring together specialist teams to deliver scalable, secure, compliant and business-aligned solutions.
