Role: Enterprise / Principal Architect – Airlines
Experience: 15+ Years
Coforge is looking for a hands-on Enterprise / Principal Architect to provide enterprise-wide architecture leadership for our Airlines clients.
We are seeking a senior technology leader with 15+ years of experience, combining strong Airlines/Aviation domain knowledge, Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture expertise, with the ability to shape complex technology modernization and transformation programs across large-scale, mission-critical airline environments.
What You’ll Drive:
- Enterprise Architecture: Define enterprise technology strategy, current and target-state architectures, capability maps, reference architectures, technology standards and multi-year transformation roadmaps.
- Business & Technology Alignment: Translate airline business priorities across Reservations, Passenger Services, Digital Commerce, Airport Operations, Flight Operations, Crew, Loyalty, Customer Experience and Operations into scalable enterprise technology capabilities.
- Hands-on Solution Architecture: Architect complex enterprise solutions, evaluate technology options, define architectural patterns and work closely with engineering teams from solution design through implementation.
- Architecture Governance: Establish enterprise architecture principles, technology standards, architectural guardrails and governance across programs, products and platforms.
- Enterprise Modernization: Assess complex legacy application landscapes and define pragmatic modernization, rationalization and transition architectures while considering business continuity and operational resilience.
- Cloud & Integration: Provide architectural direction across Cloud, APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, enterprise integration and modern digital platforms, including integration with core airline systems and partner ecosystems.
- AI, GenAI & Agentic AI: Provide enterprise-level architectural direction for AI/ML, GenAI and Agentic AI, including integration of AI agents into enterprise applications, operational workflows, customer experiences and knowledge platforms with appropriate governance and controls.
- Data: Ensure architecture appropriately considers data interoperability, quality, governance, real-time information flows and analytics. Deep Data Architecture specialization is not required.
- Resilience & Security: Ensure solutions are designed for high availability, scalability, security, operational resilience and business continuity, particularly across customer-facing and operationally critical airline platforms.
- Partner with business, engineering, security, operations, product and technology stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, secure and aligned with airline business priorities.
- Provide architecture leadership across consulting, solutioning, pre-sales and delivery, maintaining continuity from strategy through execution.
Experience & Skills:
- 15+ years of overall technology experience, with significant experience in Enterprise / Principal / Solution Architecture roles.
- Strong experience within Airlines, Aviation or Travel technology, preferably across multiple airline business capabilities.
- Proven experience defining enterprise technology strategy, target-state architectures, reference architectures and transformation roadmaps.
- Strong hands-on Solution Architecture experience across complex enterprise environments.
- Experience with large-scale application modernization, cloud transformation, integration and digital transformation programs.
- Good understanding and practical exposure to AI/ML, GenAI and Agentic AI architectures.
- Broad architectural understanding across Applications, Cloud, Integration, Data, AI, Security and Digital Platforms, without needing to be a specialist in every area.
- Experience with airline technology ecosystems such as Passenger Service Systems (PSS), Reservations, Departure Control, Loyalty, Digital Commerce, Airport/Operational platforms or associated integrations.
- Strong experience engaging CIO/CTO organizations, business leaders, Enterprise Architects, product teams and engineering teams.
- Ability to operate comfortably between enterprise strategy, hands-on architecture and technology execution.
Who Will Succeed:
A hands-on Enterprise Architect with strong Airlines domain experience and a broad technology lens who can connect airline business capabilities, applications, digital platforms, cloud, integration, data, security and emerging technologies into a coherent enterprise architecture.
The person should understand how GenAI and Agentic AI fit within the broader Airlines enterprise architecture, rather than being purely an AI Architect, and be able to bring together specialist teams to deliver scalable, resilient, secure and business-aligned solutions.
