Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology in Arlington, VA is seeking a Platform Engineering Team Lead to drive end‑user platform engineering, image management, and security; you'll set technical direction, manage roadmaps, and coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable services.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, a background check, and after-hours flexibility. You will foster modernization and automation while maintaining high reliability across government environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years diverse IT experience in end-user platform engineering, OS baselines, and security tooling.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows 11, Virtual Desktop environments, and Defender for Endpoint.
• Strong scripting/automation skills (PowerShell preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead desktop/mobile OS engineering, image management, endpoint protection, software distribution, and UEM.
• Coordinate with security, engineering, OEM vendors, and customer stakeholders to plan upgrades and maintain compliance.
• Drive platform modernization, secure baselines, automation, and lifecycle management across thousands of devices.
• Provide Tier 3 support for escalated issues and troubleshoot OS, apps, and patching problems.
