Job description

IBM is seeking a self-driven and highly motivated strategic sourcing professional with proven experience to join our IBM Procurement Services team, supporting key client initiatives.

As a Strategic Sourcing Professional, you will take ownership of and lead projects, including providing valuable category insights to support and maintain the development of sourcing strategies.

Your role and responsibilities

  • You will assist clients with strategic sourcing, engaging budget holders in developing procurement strategies that maximize ROI, ensure appropriate levels of service, maintain compliance with procedures, and adhere to professional best practices.
  • You will be responsible for independently managing large-scale procurement projects, requiring strong critical thinking, effective stakeholder management, and advanced negotiation skills.
  • You will oversee ongoing procurement activities, which includes but not limited to driving supplier performance, managing demand, generating savings, and increasing category compliance.
  • You will build and maintain open, transparent relationships with business colleagues, helping to mitigate resistance to change.
  • You will gather and analyze data to provide actionable insights that support key decision-making.
  • You may also support periodic key stakeholder meetings with clients to lead and review category strategies and activities.
  • You will have the opportunity to network with leading sourcing professionals to support both your role and career development.
