Job summary

System One seeks a Network Engineer for a contract-to-hire role in Salt Lake City, UT. You will design, modernize, and support enterprise network infrastructure across data centers, branches, and cloud environments, using Cisco Nexus, Spine Leaf, VXLAN/EVPN, BGP, OSPF, SD-WAN, and Meraki.

This position emphasizes automation and IaC with Python, Ansible, Terraform, and hands-on troubleshooting, incident response, capacity planning, and collaboration with cloud, security, and architecture teams.

Qualifications

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise networks across data centers, branches, and cloud environments.
• Develop network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or comparable technologies to streamline provisioning, configuration, validation, and recurring operational activities.
• Mentor engineers, share best practices, provide guidance, participate in on-call rotations, and support escalated production issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, resilient network solutions across data centers, branches, and cloud environments.
• Architect and support modern data center networks using Spine Leaf topologies, Cisco Nexus, VXLAN, and EVPN for scalability and reliability.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize routing with BGP and OSPF.
• Support cloud-managed and distributed networking including SD-WAN and Meraki.
• Develop IaC and automation to streamline provisioning and operations.
• Implement proactive monitoring and incident response using SolarWinds, Grafana, Prometheus, and Wireshark.
