Job Description
Network Engineer – Enterprise Network Modernization
Systemone is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to help design, modernize, and support secure, resilient, and highly available enterprise network infrastructure across data centers, branch locations, and cloud environments.
In this role, you'll work with modern networking technologies including Cisco Nexus, Spine Leaf architectures, VXLAN/EVPN, BGP, OSPF, SD WAN, and Cisco Meraki while helping advance network automation and cloud connectivity. You'll have the opportunity to influence network architecture and modernization strategy, introduce automation and Infrastructure as Code practices, solve complex infrastructure challenges, and provide technical leadership during critical production events.
The ideal candidate combines deep hands on network engineering expertise with an automation mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively across cloud, security, infrastructure, application, and architecture teams.
How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Network Engineer, you will help shape and support the next generation of enterprise network infrastructure. You will:
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available network solutions spanning data centers, branch locations, and cloud environments.
Architect and support modern data center networks using Spine Leaf topologies, Cisco Nexus, VXLAN, and EVPN, with a focus on scalability, redundancy, performance, and operational reliability.
Design, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize advanced routing environments using BGP, OSPF, and related networking protocols.
Design and support cloud managed and distributed networking solutions, including SD WAN, enterprise switching, wireless networking, and Cisco Meraki technologies.
Contribute to the organization's network modernization strategy and technology roadmap by evaluating emerging technologies, engineering practices, tools, and architectural patterns.
Develop network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or comparable technologies to streamline provisioning, configuration, validation, and recurring operational activities.
Implement proactive network monitoring, performance management, troubleshooting, and capacity planning using tools such as SolarWinds, Grafana, Prometheus, Wireshark, and comparable observability platforms.
Diagnose complex network and connectivity issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive timely resolution of critical production incidents.
Partner with cloud, security, infrastructure, application, and architecture teams to deliver integrated enterprise technology solutions.
Mentor engineers, share technical best practices, provide technical guidance, participate in on call rotations, and support the successful resolution of escalated production issues.
Help strengthen network reliability, resiliency, security, operational efficiency, and disaster recovery capabilities across the enterprise.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, along with 8+ years of hands on network engineering experience supporting large scale enterprise environments.
Significant experience designing, implementing, and supporting modern data center network architectures, including Spine Leaf topology, VXLAN/EVPN, and Cisco Nexus infrastructure.
Advanced hands on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing routing environments using BGP and OSPF, with a strong foundation in TCP/IP and enterprise networking principles.
Strong experience designing and supporting distributed or cloud managed network solutions, including SD WAN, enterprise switching, and wireless technologies.
Hands on Cisco Meraki experience is strongly preferred.
Experience developing network automation and Infrastructure as Code solutions using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or comparable technologies.
Demonstrated expertise in network troubleshooting and production support, including performance analysis, incident resolution, root cause analysis, high availability, resiliency, capacity planning, and disaster recovery considerations.
Working knowledge of adjacent infrastructure and security technologies, including virtualization, containerization, load balancing, firewalls and network security, DDoS protection, and enterprise security practices.
Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary technical teams.
We’re especially interested in candidates who bring:
Experience with networking in GCP, AWS, and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
Experience with monitoring, observability, and network analysis platforms such as SolarWinds, Grafana, Prometheus, and Wireshark.
Experience contributing to enterprise network modernization initiatives or technology roadmaps.
Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing experience.
Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
