Troy University seeks a Network Engineer to design and implement network enhancements, monitor systems, and resolve issues across routers, switches, firewalls, and security devices. You will work with Fortinet, BNA, PRTG, and other enterprise tools while supporting end users and coordinating outages.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, strong networking and security knowledge, and the ability to work in a collaborative enterprise environment with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required or five years of related work experience.
• Extensive hands‑on knowledge of enterprise network systems, protocols, and standards (NAC, Ethernet, LAN, WLAN, TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP).
• Strong knowledge of network management, monitoring, and analysis tools.
• Knowledge of enterprise security products and data privacy regulations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to present ideas clearly.
• Ability to work in a team environment and manage priorities in a high‑pressure setting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and independently with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Design and plan network enhancements and capacity improvements.
• Monitor network systems and respond to performance anomalies.
• Troubleshoot network issues independently and with consultants.
• Provide end‑user support via Helpdesk tickets.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance outages and outages responses.
• Collaborate with vendors for ISP connectivity and MPLS support.
• Handle outages and maintain current pricing for network equipment.
