Job summary

DBPR seeks an experienced Network Architect to provide architectural guidance, engineering support, and technical execution for the department's enterprise network infrastructure. The role requires onsite work at the DBPR headquarters in Tallahassee, Florida.

The incumbent will design, implement, monitor, and secure LAN/WAN/WLAN environments, collaborate across teams, and mentor junior staff. Strong troubleshooting, scripting, and DR/HA experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise IT support with strong networking.
• Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN/WLAN, Cisco & Juniper switches, Kemp/F5 load balancers, and SAN.
• Strong knowledge of network security, including ACLs, firewalls, proxies, mail gateways, Palo Alto NGFW, and Cisco IronPort.
• Experience with POTS, PRI, SIP Trunks, cloud networking, and hybrid connectivity.
• Cisco Collaboration: UCM, UCCX, and Unity Connection.
• Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, network monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization.
• Experience with incident response, scripting/application design, and enterprise network support procedures.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, executives, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and support LAN/WLAN/WAN environments.
• Perform network architecture and design.
• Provide network engineering and implementation.
• Monitor network performance and perform advanced troubleshooting.
• Support network security and resiliency.
• Evaluate networking technologies and provide technical recommendations.
• Provide project and implementation support.
• Maintain network documentation, standards, and procedures.
• Provide technical analysis and architectural guidance for enterprise network infrastructure.
• Support network monitoring, configuration, maintenance, performance optimization, incident response, and security.
• Participate in meetings, forums, seminars, and webinars as requested.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical knowledge sharing/mentoring.
• Support work outside normal business hours, including potentially holidays, when required.
