Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Elk Grove, CA is seeking a Mobile Architect to lead the architecture and technical direction of our mobile platform across iOS and Android, supporting enterprise financial workflows including expenses, approvals, cards, receipts, and user self-service.

As a Mobile Architect, you will collaborate with mobile engineers, backend developers, product managers, and QA teams to design scalable mobile solutions and drive security, performance, and maintainability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with mobile app development and architecture.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership role such as Architect or Principal Engineer.
• Deep knowledge of iOS and Android platform architecture, lifecycle, performance, and native integrations.
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript-based mobile development and API integration.
• Experience with secure, scalable mobile applications in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, authentication patterns (SSO, OAuth, JWT), and backend integrations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to influence technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architecture for the company’s mobile applications across iOS and Android.
• Lead decisions on architecture, scalability, security, performance, observability, and maintainability.
• Establish mobile development standards, testing, release quality, and best practices.
• Partner with backend teams to define scalable API contracts and authentication strategies.
• Design mobile capabilities including push notifications, biometrics, document upload, camera workflows, and background processing.
• Drive modernization efforts and evaluate tools/frameworks to improve productivity and product quality.
• Improve production reliability through monitoring, diagnostics, and operational practices.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and guide technical decision-making across the team.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership on roadmap planning and platform investments.
