Job summary

J.Crew Group is seeking a Director of Merchandise Planning to set the financial and strategic planning strategy across all women’s categories. You will partner with Merchandising, Allocation, and the executive team to shape long-range assortment investment, pricing, and flow, while leading a team and evolving planning tools and processes.

You will drive enterprise-wide forecasting, governance, and performance reviews, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution to ensure alignment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 12–15+ years of merchandise planning and financial analysis, including senior leadership experience.
• Proven track record leading planning strategy across enterprise or brands.
• Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills with expert Excel proficiency.
• Executive- and board-level communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
• Demonstrated success building and retaining a leadership team.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with governance experience.

Responsibilities

• Preseason: Set divisional strategy for sales, margin and inventory; align with senior managers.
• In Season: Own division visibility on sales, margin and inventory, surface risks and opportunities.
• Forecasting: Define forecasting standards, governance, and rigor across divisions and brands.
• Financial planning: Partner with Finance on reforecasting and long-range plans.
• Leadership: Lead enterprise hindsight and investment review forums for executive direction.
