Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Medication Safety Officer to serve as an enterprise-wide leader advancing the safe and effective use of medications across the health system. This is not a traditional pharmacy operations role, but a high-visibility quality and safety position influencing medication safety on a broad scale.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. degree required with PGY1 residency or equivalent health-system pharmacy experience.
• Minimum five years of progressive health-system pharmacy experience, including at least three years in medication safety or related systems-level leadership.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams, applying performance-improvement methods, analyzing safety data, and implementing sustainable changes across complex clinical operations.
• Completion of a PGY2 residency or fellowship in Medication-Use Safety and Policy, Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership, Pharmacy Informatics, or another relevant specialty preferred.
• Experience with enterprise electronic health records and medication-use technologies; Epic CDS and related systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide medication safety initiatives across acute and ambulatory settings.
• Identify emergent medication-safety risks and translate data into action.
• Collaborate with pharmacy, clinical, quality, operations, and executive leaders.
• Develop and implement system-level improvements using safety technologies.
