Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Medication Safety Officer (MSO) to serve as an enterprise-wide leader advancing the safe and effective use of medications across our health system. This is not a traditional pharmacy operations role but a high-visibility quality and safety position requiring clinical expertise, data, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. required; ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or equivalent health-system experience.
• Five years of progressive health-system pharmacy experience, including at least three years in medication safety/quality improvement or related leadership.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and applying performance-improvement methods.
• PGY2 residency or fellowship in Medication-Use Safety and Policy or related area preferred.
• Experience with enterprise EHRs and medication-use technologies; Epic CDS, pharmacy automation, and data visualization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify medication-safety risks and drive system-level improvements across the health system.
• Collaborate with pharmacy, quality, operations and executive leadership to set priorities and translate data into action.
• Lead program development and implementation of medication-safety technologies and safety initiatives.
• Influence strategic planning and cross-departmental collaboration to optimize medication-management.
