Job summary

The Federal Public Defender District of Arizona seeks a skilled Assistant Computer Systems Administrator (ACSA) – IT Network Administrator to secure, manage, and optimize the agency’s multi-site enterprise network. This role requires hands-on work with Windows server infrastructure, virtualization, storage, and cybersecurity operations across locations in Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities include configuring and monitoring network infrastructure, managing Active Directory and Group Policy,

Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise network administration and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware vSphere or Hyper-V) and storage (SAN/NAS).
• Familiarity with Veeam backup/recovery and disaster recovery concepts.
• Basic cybersecurity practices and secure infrastructure configuration.
• Ability to work across multiple sites and document configurations clearly.

Responsibilities

• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VLANs, and DNS/DHCP.
• Manage Windows Server, AD, and Group Policy; support virtualization environments.
• Maintain server and storage hardware, including SAN/NAS and backups (Veeam).
• Support cybersecurity operations, patch management, and incident response.
• Maintain data center infrastructure, cabling, and rack management.
• Assist with AI infrastructure deployment and on-premises network security.
• Create and maintain network diagrams and inventories; develop automation scripts.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in networking, cybersecurity, and AI.
