National Interstate Insurance Company is seeking a Data Engineer to join its team in Richfield, OH, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days in the office and up to two remote days.

The role focuses on enterprise data architecture, data governance, integration, and analytics, collaborating with stakeholders and mentoring staff.

Candidates should have 14+ years in data architecture or related fields, a degree in IT/CS, and experience with cloud platforms and data tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Preferred: Informatica Cloud, Snowflake, ODS, ETO experience

Responsibilities

• Defines and governs the enterprise data architecture, including models, data flows, and integration strategies.
• Leads design and governance of data integration solutions; optimizes databases, data warehouses, and analytics environments.
• Establishes enterprise standards for data modeling, metadata, and governance with data quality, security, and compliance."
• Conducts analysis to define requirements for data acquisition, access, and usage; leads data governance policies and controls.
• Evaluates emerging data technologies to enhance architecture and analytics.
• Oversees creation and maintenance of documentation for data architecture, standards, and governance.
• Collaborates with senior stakeholders to align data architecture with enterprise priorities.
• Provides thought leadership through workshops and advisory sessions on data architecture and strategy.
• May mentor staff and participate in talent decisions.
