Job summary

Delta Air Lines, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead testing and verification across enterprise cloud services.

You will design reference architectures, guide CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with the Cloud Center of Excellence to embed standards. The role emphasizes non-functional requirements such as scalability, reliability, security, and observability, requiring a senior background in software/cloud engineering and leadership across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software/engineering experience.
• 3+ years in technical leadership roles.
• Hands-on with enterprise applications in Java, Python, TypeScript, or similar.
• Experience designing cloud-native solutions on AWS and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, observability, security, and operational excellence.
• Experience guiding architecture reviews and mentoring teams.
• Understanding test data management and environment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the enterprise testing/verification strategy for cloud-native platforms.
• Design testing approaches for cluster/infrastructure, APIs, and microservices.
• Evaluate third-party tools and build internal services where gaps exist.
• Develop reference architectures and standards for automated testing at scale.
• Collaborate with Cloud Center of Excellence and Enterprise Architecture teams.
• Develop services and APIs to address gaps in the test toolchain.
• Establish guardrails for test coverage, quality gates, and release readiness.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives integrating testing with CI/CD and cloud infra.
• Focus on non-functional requirements: scalability, reliability, security, observability.
