Job Description
Build and maintain scalable, highly available, and resilient systems in the cloud and on‑prem. Implement new cloud functionality or migrate existing processes to the cloud and maintain them. Build and deploy systems utilizing a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery framework and infrastructure automation. This is a hybrid‑eligible position.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and manage IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services—compute, storage, network, security, administration, automation, application services, and databases—in native or hybrid cloud environments. Ensure the infrastructure is optimized for performance, cost, and security.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python and other “devops” languages) and infrastructure‑as‑code templates to provision and manage Oracle OCI and AWS resources using Terraform.
- Engineer processes across servers, applications, and databases; monitor them to ensure proper operation and address traffic spikes.
- Design infrastructure resources, optimize performance, implement backup and recovery strategies, and monitor overall health of the environment.
- Develop efficient connectivity solutions between campus infrastructures to ensure required data is available.
- Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to optimize cloud‑based solutions for high performance and cost‑effectiveness.
- Ensure monitoring coverage for applications; proactively manage system health and lead root‑cause resolution.
- Implement best practices for IaaS/PaaS service lifecycle.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI.
- Experience deploying AWS servers using AWS CLI and HashiCorp Terraform.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Puppet, and related deployment tools.
- Experience with servers, infrastructure, platform sizing, and cost reduction.
- Experience with automated deployment and continuous integration/release pipelines.
- Network security and network-awareness principles.
- Full‑stack infrastructure knowledge: database, web server, application server scripted as code.
- Strong understanding of Unix networking, firewall, security hardening, storage, and OS package management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
- Experience with infrastructure APIs on cloud platforms (e.g., EC2, VPC, EBS, VMs).
- Extensive experience with Terraform IaC patterns.
- Proficient scripting in Unix shell and Python.
- Work independently or as part of a team, self‑motivated in learning new technologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaborative problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with vendors, system service providers, and act as a liaison.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Single Sign‑On SAML and OpenID.
- Experience with AWS SQS, API Gateway, OAuth 2.0, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Oracle OCI is highly recommended.
- AWS and OCI certifications preferred.
Compensation and Sponsorship
Salary: $150,922 – $155,000 per annum. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
