Job description

Role Overview

We’re seeking a highly skilled Oracle Cloud engineer who is energized by solving complex technical challenges and building cloud solutions that scale. This remote U.S.-based role blends architectural vision with practical engineering execution, focusing on designing, building, securing, and optimizing the OCI Platform using Oracle Policy, Role‑Based Access, OCI Recipes, and OCI Functions in a modern DevOps environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop core OCI landing zone automation to support scalable, secure, and compliant cloud environments.
  • Implement centralized landing zone management using OCI‑native services such as Cloud Guard, Logging, Audit, and Identity domains.
  • Build and maintain OCI infrastructure using Terraform, Oracle Cloud CLI, Ansible, and API integrations; develop reusable modules and support environment‑specific configurations.
  • Drive a self‑service, automation‑first mindset to empower stakeholders with secure, scalable, and efficient cloud deployment capabilities across both IaaS workloads and serverless applications.
  • Design, implement, and automate OCI networking architectures; configure Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), subnets, route tables, security lists, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and gateways (Internet, NAT, Service, and Dynamic Routing) for hub‑and‑spoke, peering, and hybrid connectivity via FastConnect or VPN.
  • Integrate OCI Security and Identity services by implementing guardrails, least‑privilege IAM policies, dynamic groups, compartment hierarchies, and federation with Active Directory or LDAP (SCIM provisioning, SOC identification).
  • Develop deployment automation, auto‑remediation workflows with OCI Cloud Guard, Functions, and IAM; build monitoring and alerting systems using OCI Monitoring, Logging, and Alarms.
  • Ensure OCI services comply with internal security policies and external standards such as NIST800‑53 and CMMC.
  • Integrate OCI with enterprise networks and core IT services to ensure seamless connectivity and interoperability.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, document procedures, and recommend architectural improvements to enhance reliability and performance.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in STEM or equivalent; 10+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree, or 14+ years in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven OCI engineering, DevOps practices, automation, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Terraform, Python, Ansible, and Bash.
  • Demonstrated leadership of technical initiatives and cross‑functional collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing and governing medium/large enterprise‑scale Oracle OCI environments.
  • Background in cloud security, including OCI Policy, Role‑Based Access Control, and identity governance.
  • Experience building or maturing CI/CD pipelines, observability frameworks, and automated testing practices.
  • Prior leadership guiding engineering teams through modernization or cloud transformation efforts.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: $132,400–$251,600 USD.
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance; short‑term and long‑term disability; 401(k) match.
  • Paid time off, holidays, flexible work schedules, and remote‑work options.
  • Parental leave (including paternal), child/adult backup care, educational assistance, and employee recognition programs.
  • Retirement and other comprehensive wellness benefits.
