Job summary

Promega seeks a temporary AV installer to support the installation and deployment of Cisco AV equipment across campus meeting spaces. You'll prepare devices, run cabling, configure new equipment, and test systems to ensure reliable operation while collaborating with the experienced AV team.

This summer role offers hands-on experience with enterprise AV platforms and diverse meeting spaces, building skills in installation techniques, troubleshooting, and event support on Promega's Madison campus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with audio/visual equipment installation or related technical work (2+ years preferred).
• Comfortable with physical work and lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to learn new technology and troubleshoot methodically.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between campus locations.

Responsibilities

• Unpack, stage, and inventory Cisco Room Systems devices prior to installation.
• Install and configure Cisco AV equipment in conference rooms, run cabling and mount displays.
• Test connectivity, video framing, and audio levels after installation.
• Coordinate installation schedules with facilities, IT, and end users.
• Label and document cabling for fleet management and troubleshooting.
• Provide basic troubleshooting and escalate device issues.
• Move equipment between storage, staging, and sites up to 75 lbs.
• Communicate progress to the AV management team.
• Support production events with setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
