Job summary

Kognitos in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join a hybrid team, open to remote for the right candidate. You will embed with enterprise customers to design, build, and ship automations on the Kognitos platform.

You will turn ambiguous, undocumented processes into production-grade automations, often writing code alongside customer teams. You will own onboarding, deployment, and expansion, and shape product direction with field learnings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a software/solutions/forward deployed engineering role
• Strong proficiency in Python or another general‑purpose language and production code familiarity
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems (REST/SOAP APIs, databases, ERP or finance systems, or RPA tools)
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast‑moving customer environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical tradeoffs to engineers and business stakeholders
• Willingness to travel (up to ~25%)

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with enterprise customers — finance, AP, healthcare, and IT teams — to scope, design, and implement automations on the Kognitos platform
• Translate ambiguous business requirements and undocumented processes into working "English as Code" automations
• Build custom integrations between Kognitos and customer systems: ERPs, databases, APIs, email, and document sources
• Debug and resolve production issues at customer sites, often under time pressure
• Own the technical relationship with key accounts through onboarding, deployment, and expansion
• Feed field learnings back to product and engineering to improve the platform for every customer
• Travel to customer sites as needed (up to ~25%)
