A leading company seeks a Lead Architect in Chicago to guide the Divisional Architecture team. The role involves aligning the team with QBE's IT strategy, managing architecture designs, and fostering collaborative working relationships across the organization. The opportunity: The purpose of this role is to lead the Divisional Architecture team in delivering Divisional IT Strategy, Enterprise and Solution Architecture, ensuring alignment with QBE-wide IT Strategy and Objectives. This role involves building strong relationships with key Divisional leadership to understand strategic goals and oversee the team's deliverables to meet desired outcomes. Collaboration and alignment with various Divisional and global Architecture teams are essential for success in this position.
Location: New York City (55 Water Street, NYC), Chicago IL, Sun Prairie, WI Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week The salary range for this role is between $177,500.00 and $333,000.00Responsibilities:
Building and maintaining high-performing architecture teams to deliver quality, efficient, and commercially viable specifications and services.
Ensuring alignment of architecture designs and roadmaps with divisional business strategic outcomes and QBE architecture standards.
Foster a culture of collaboration, information sharing, and value provision within the team.
Keeping the team updated on current best practices, emerging approaches, and innovations in the field.
Drive the adoption of architectural standards through defined governance framework
Develop pragmatic technology strategies to reduce the total cost of ownership and deliver strategic business capabilities.
Participating in Architecture Review Boards and ensuring sponsorship for relevant papers.
Contributing to global forums and identifying collaboration opportunities across the QBE Group.
Facilitating discussions, conflict resolution, and building strong working relationships.
Participating in the development of formal standards, policies, and reference architecture.
Managing team budgets, forecasting resource needs, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Work Experience:
Necessary Work Experience includes:
Significant relevant experience.
Preferred Work Experience includes:
Experience in strategy roles
Experience in insurance or financial services.
Experience of creating strategic roadmaps and investment business cases.
Deep knowledge of building and running Architecture teams and practices.
Experience in designing, implementing and running enterprise architecture governance.
Experience of working with remote/geographically dispersed teams.
Experience of negotiating, influencing and stakeholder managing senior executive level sponsors.
A deep understanding of the enterprise's business and industry, key principles of business and competitive strategy, and evolving digital and societal trends.
Qualifications:
Necessary Qualifications include:
Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
TOGAF qualification
Hybrid Working – a mix of working from home and in the office
