Department Overview

The Field People Partner team plays a critical role in delivering McDonald’s people-first strategy across our U.S. restaurant system. As a strategic HR leader, theDirector, Field People Partner,works closely with field leadership, owner/operators, and support teams to align people practices with business goals. This team leads the execution of national and local people plans, driving talent development, employee engagement, and operational excellence. With a strong focus on coaching, cross-functional collaboration, and operational alignment, the team fosters a high-performing culture where people thrive, and careers grow.

Please note this is a remote position and candidates must be able to operate locally within the Nashville, TN region.

Duties
  • Partner with Field Leadership Team to align people strategies with business goals.
  • Lead initiatives with Field People Support teams to address people-related issues impacting performance.
  • Provide guidance on performance management processes.
  • Support Field Leadership Team in executing talent planning processes.
  • Collaborate with the Local Experience Manager to deliver on People plan priorities.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex employee relations matters.
  • Develop and standardize processes for managing interpersonal and HR-related issues in the field.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and HR best practices.
  • Coach and mentor people leaders to foster growth and succession planning.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance talent retention through data analysis and engagement programs.
  • Provide strategic input on broader field HR decisions in collaboration with leadership.
  • Travel required (75%).
Qualifications
  • Extensive Human Resources expertise with proven strategic leadership experience across HR and related business functions (5+ years in HR required).
  • Demonstrated success partnering with distributed business and people leadership teams to deliver impactful HR solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Strong organizational leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Experience leading multiple, localized HR initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent influencing, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to navigate and thrive in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience working with franchisees and managing complex stakeholder relationships with credibility and impact.
  • Solid business acumen and a deep understanding of how HR drives business performance.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree (preferred)
  • Professional HR Certification is a plus

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $149,260.00 - $190,310.00 per year
