Job summary

Uber Engineering is seeking an Application Developer Engineer to own the operational health, configuration, and lifecycle of Uber’s core enterprise applications. You will act as the highest escalation point for complex issues and own tooling, processes, and user experience across Uber.

You will partner with IT, Security, and Business stakeholders to ensure enterprise platforms run securely, efficiently, and at global scale, delivering reliable automation and seamless integration across critical

Qualifications

• 4+ years IT or Enterprise Application Developer experience.
• 3+ years supporting SaaS platforms at scale with admin‑level access.
• Strong scripting or coding skills (Python, Bash, APIs).
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise AI applications (Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, MCP).
• Familiarity with IAM (Okta, AD, SSO, SCIM).
• Experience acting as escalation point for complex issues.
• Strong documentation, training, and communication skills.
• Ability to respond quickly to incidents in high‑pressure situations.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary application developer and technical owner for enterprise SaaS apps.
• Manage app configuration, access models, integrations, and automation.
• Own lifecycle management: onboarding, offboarding, renewals, vendor coordination.
• Serve as Super Admin with highest access level.
• Resolve escalated complex L3 issues beyond standard troubleshooting.
• Lead incident response for enterprise app outages or degradations.
• Design and implement automation using JavaScript, Python, APIs.
• Analyze ticket/usage data to identify trends and optimization opportunities.
• Possess strong programming knowledge (Python, JavaScript, Java, SQL).
• Knowledge of databases like BigQuery and Apache Hive.
• Bridge IT Engineering, Service Desk, Security, and Business stakeholders.
• Provide actionable feedback to leadership on pain points.
• Own internal/external documentation for enterprise apps.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, escalation guides.
• Ensure procurement/licensing processes follow guidelines.
• Perform additional duties to support operations.
