Job summary

Corus International is seeking an Enterprise Applications Developer to build, integrate, and maintain internal business apps and automated workflows. You will partner with business users to translate requirements, develop secure, scalable solutions on the Microsoft 365 platform, and support ongoing application delivery.

The role emphasizes API integrations, Power Apps/Automate, Python/PowerShell development, and CI/CD in a hybrid Washington, DC environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Minimum five years of software development, automation, and end-user support.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience on the Microsoft 365 platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Office Scripts) and SharePoint Online.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and version control for internal apps.
  • Strong communication in a user-facing role and ability to gather requirements.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python for custom apps and automation.
  • Familiarity with Azure services and Azure AD; ability to use Graph APIs for integration.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a user-facing partner to business users to gather and translate needs into solutions.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise apps, scripts, and automated workflows to reduce manual work.
  • Build secure integrations using APIs across M365, SharePoint, Azure AD, Salesforce, SQL, and cloud storage.
  • Design internal tools using Power Apps, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and PowerShell in line with standards.
  • Automate workflows with Power Automate and Office Scripts, including logging and error handling.
  • Manage source control and participate in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure).
  • Write and run unit/integration tests and document results and defects.
  • Provide user-focused application support and triage incidents globally.
  • Create technical docs: design notes, runbooks, data mappings, API references, end-user guides.
  • Implement secure-by-design practices with least privilege and proper secrets handling.
  • Collaborate with product owners to align requirements and backlogs.
  • Foster user adoption and continual improvement of enterprise apps.

Position Type: Regular Full-Time

Location: Washington, DC - Hybrid

Salary Range: $71,000 - $92,500 - $114,000

Position Summary:

The Enterprise Applications Developer is a user-facing role responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining internal business applications and automated workflows. The role partners closely with business users to understand operational needs, gather requirements, and deliver technology solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization. This role also develops secure, reliable, and scalable solutions using modern tools and best practices, while maintaining documentation and providing ongoing application support.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a user-facing partner to business users, engaging directly to understand needs, gather and clarify requirements, and translate them into functional solutions.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of enterprise applications, scripts, and automated workflows to reduce manual effort and errors.
  • Build and support secure system integrations using APIs, Microsoft Graph, and RESTful and SOAP services across platforms such as M365, SharePoint, Azure AD, Salesforce, SQL, and cloud storage.
  • Design and enhance internal tools and features using Power Apps, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and PowerShell, following established patterns and code standards.
  • Automate workflows using Power Automate and Office Scripts, including input/output design, exception handling, and running logging for traceability, with a focus on efficiency and user experience.
  • Manage source control and participate in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure), supporting builds, deployments, and configuration of environment variables and secrets.
  • Write and execute unit and integration tests; document test results and identified defects, ensuring solutions meet both technical and user experience requirements.
  • Provide routine application support by triaging tickets, resolving incidents and service requests, and delivering responsive, user-focused support to a global end-user base, escalating issues as needed.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design notes, runbooks, data mappings, API references, and end-user guidance materials to support adoption and usability.
  • Apply secure by design principles by implementing least privilege access, proper secrets handling, data protection, and adherence to security and change management standards.
  • Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and maintain accurate backlogs and tasks, ensuring alignment between user needs and technical delivery.
  • Build strong working relationships with end users to promote adoption, usability, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience, including software development and automation and end-user support.
  • Experience working directly with business users to gather and translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience developing solutions on the Microsoft 365 platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Office Scripts) and managing content in SharePoint Online.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and version control for internal applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in a user-facing role supporting end users, gathering requirements, and delivering clear, actionable solutions.
  • Proficiency in modern scripting and programming languages (e.g., PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python) for developing custom applications and automation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services and Azure AD (identity and access management). Ability to use Azure Graph API or related APIs to integrate systems (e.g., connecting Azure AD, Salesforce, databases) and enable seamless data flow across platforms.
  • Understanding of secure development practices, including use of authentication protocols like SAML, OAuth2, and Microsoft identity libraries (MSAL). Ensures solutions comply with organizational IT policies and implements proper access controls and data protection measures.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and integrate AI enabled capabilities into enterprise solutions, leveraging generative AI and intelligent automation to enhance business processes while ensuring security, governance, and responsible use.
  • Familiarity with tools including GitHub Actions, Azure Static Web Apps, or similar frameworks to automate build and deployment processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of translating user needs into technical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Must demonstrate calm judgment during incidents and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends in an on-call support capacity as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Salesforce experience (flows, API integration), basic SQL, data transformation (JSON/CSV), Postman/Insomnia, basic testing tools preferred.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit and mission-driven environment preferred.

Working Conditions, Travel and Environment

  • Corus has a hybrid work policy, allowing work to be done remotely; two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) in the office is required. The employee must be available to work outside normal office hours or weekends as required.
  • This position must be able to travel as required for standard domestic business purposes.
  • If applicable, must have authorization to work in the country of assignment.
