Job summary

Tessera Labs is building an AI platform that changes how large enterprises operate. We seek an engineer to own end-to-end agent systems, linking models to the surrounding landscape of processes, data, and code.

You will design production-grade agents, improve their reliability, and ensure auditability across governance, retrieval, and evaluation layers for Fortune 500 customers. Expect rigorous engineering in a startup, fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and operating production software, with recent time on LLM-powered systems.
• Experience shipping agentic systems that users depend on and owning incidents.
• Fluency with the current agent toolkit (tool calling, orchestration, context engineering, RAG, evals, tracing) and knowing where it breaks.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship production agents that transform landscapes across process, data, and code.
• Build the tool layer with typed, permissioned interfaces for enterprise systems.
• Improve agent performance via prompting, context construction, and decision logic.
• Build retrieval layers over enterprise artifacts with chunking and indexing.
• Manage context to balance history and performance for large-scale environments.
• Use ML where appropriate and understand when to rely on a model vs. a prompt.
• Build eval and monitoring layers with real regression coverage and alerts.
• Instrument runs to reconstruct model calls, tool invocations, and decisions.
