Job summary

McKinsey & Company is seeking a senior software leader in the United States to set the vision for engineering excellence, define standards, architectures, and scalable AI-enabled solutions for clients.

You will mentor multiple engineering teams, partner with executives to shape technology strategy, hire top talent, and collaborate across global AI and software teams to deliver enterprise-grade software and meaningful client impact.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of experience designing and delivering large-scale, business-critical software solutions with mastery in frontend and backend technologies, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
• Set the overarching technical vision and strategy for an organization, driving engineering efficiency and scalability at enterprise level.
• Define and lead enterprise-wide adoption of agentic engineering with governance, guardrails, and accountability.
• Architect enterprise AI strategy spanning model portfolios, build-vs-buy decisions, and AI security standards; partner with senior leaders to maximize AI impact.
• Proven track record as trusted advisor to senior executives on technology and data strategy, cloud architecture, and long-term transformation roadmaps.
• Security-first mindset; champion secure development practices and align on enterprise security strategies.
• Experience leading multiple engineering teams and technical leaders, hiring, mentoring, and retaining top talent.
• Exceptional time management and ability to communicate effectively with engineers to C-level executives.
