Job summary

Securian Financial in Minnesota is seeking an AI Engineer to join the Enterprise Data and Analytics team. You will shape platforms, evaluate AI technologies, and guide standards for scalable, secure AI across the enterprise.

Collaborate with Data Science, Data Engineering, and AI CoE, lead PoC efforts, and ensure alignment with enterprise strategy. This hybrid role requires in-office presence at least 3 days weekly.

Qualifications

• Strong technical experience across AI, ML, and cloud platform engineering.
• Hands-on with AWS and services for AI/ML development and data processing.
• Production experience with MLOps, model hosting, and monitoring solutions.
• Ability to run proofs-of-concept and translate findings into recommendations.
• Knowledge of AI stacks: APIs, vector databases, orchestration, RAG patterns.
• Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in Enterprise Architecture, platform engineering, or MLOps.

Responsibilities

• Champion AI platform selection, evaluation, and lifecycle management.
• Serve as internal SME on enterprise AI platform architecture and tooling.
• Experiment with new AI services and foundation models for enterprise use.
• Guide solution design and promote reuse of approved AI patterns.
• Document and coach on platform standards and reference architectures.
• Ensure AI platforms are secure, compliant, and cost-efficient.
• Bridge AI CoE with platform teams for alignment and knowledge flow.
• Consult with product owners, data scientists, and engineers to close gaps.
• Support governance controls for responsible AI use.
• Contribute to enterprise guidelines for evolving model capabilities.
