Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an Enterprise Applied AI Engineer to partner with leading organizations, designing, building, and deploying AI systems that deliver measurable business outcomes. You will work hands-on across prototypes, evaluation harnesses, integrations, and production accelerators, while guiding decisions on models, reliability, and governance.

Based in SF or NYC with a hybrid model, relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing, building, and delivering AI/ML systems in enterprise environments.
• Ability to translate deployment experience into product feedback and guidance.
• Strong coding and system design capabilities across AI application stacks.

Responsibilities

• Partner with enterprise customers to identify opportunities and translate them into architectures and plans.
• Design, build, and deploy AI systems that deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Hands-on coding to build prototypes, evaluation harnesses, and production accelerators.
• Make sound technical decisions across models, retrieval, data, and governance.
• Diagnose implementation challenges, reproduce failures, and drive resolutions.
• Help customers move from prototypes to reliable production systems and adoption.
• Collaborate with OpenAI teams to share deployment lessons and feedback.
• Create reusable architectures, tooling, and guidance for future deployments.
