Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking an AI Architect to design target architectures for AI-native applications and enterprise AI solutions for large clients. You will decide what the system should do and what it should not, and define guardrails, evaluations, and who owns decisions.

Qualifications

• Architect AI-native systems in production (RAG, assistants, agents) with architecture ownership.
• Proven track record as a solution/software/enterprise architect delivering production systems.
• Experience translating ambiguous requirements into explicit business decisions.
• Ability to present options, costs, and risks to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architectures for AI-native solutions including orchestration and guardrails.
• Tailor architectures to business scope and justify trade-offs.
• Convert requirements into explicit decisions with owners and pricing.
• Document architectural decisions and constraints for future teams.
• Define evaluation strategies so systems prove business fit, not just fluent output.
• Decide where humans stay in the loop for regulatory, data, or legal reasons.
• Collaborate with EPAM delivery teams and presales to shape proposals and costs.
• Build proofs of concept and reference implementations when evidence is needed.
• Contribute to EPAM’s AI architecture practice and mentor peers.
