Job summary

Simulations Plus, a global leader in model-informed and AI-accelerated drug development, seeks an Enterprise AI and Integration Engineer. This hands-on role builds, integrates, and supports enterprise AI, automation, and business-system solutions.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, IT, and technical teams to turn needs into production deployments, develop AI agents and workflows, and ensure security and standards.

The Enterprise AI and Integration Engineer is a hands‑on technical individual contributor responsible for building, integrating, implementing, and supporting enterprise AI, automation, and business system solutions.

This role works directly with business stakeholders, process owners, IT, and technical teams to turn business needs into working solutions. The position takes solutions from technical discovery and proof of concept through development, integration, testing, deployment, and stabilization.

The role is highly hands‑on and includes building AI agents and workflows, developing system integrations, configuring enterprise platforms, creating proofs of concept, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting enterprise system implementations. The Enterprise AI and Integration Engineer may own the technical delivery of assigned initiatives from start to finish while working within established enterprise architecture, security, and technology standards

  • AI, Automation, and Agent Development
    • Design, build, configure, test, and deploy AI workflows, copilots, intelligent agents, and automation solutions using approved enterprise platforms
    • Develop agent instructions, prompts, tools, knowledge connections, APIs, retrieval mechanisms, guardrails, escalation paths, and human‑in‑the‑loop workflows
    • Connect AI solutions with enterprise systems, applications, and data sources
    • Build reusable agent patterns, workflows, prompts, connectors, templates, and technical components
    • Implement evaluation, monitoring, exception handling, and quality controls for AI‑enabled solutions
    • Troubleshoot and optimize deployed AI and automation solutions for reliability, performance, usability, and business value
  • Systems Integration and Enterprise Applications
    • Design, build, test, and support integrations between ERP, CRM, financial, project management, collaboration, operational, data, automation, and AI systems
    • Develop and troubleshoot REST APIs, authentication, connectors, data transformations, integration workflows, and event‑driven processes
    • Configure enterprise applications, workflows, business rules, and related platform capabilities required to deliver business solutions
    • Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving APIs, authentication, data flows, integrations, automation, and enterprise applications
    • Work with system owners and architects to ensure solutions follow established architecture, security, integration, and change‑management standards
  • Proofs of Concept and Solution Development
    • Rapidly develop proofs of concept and working prototypes to evaluate ideas, technologies, integrations, and AI use cases
    • Work directly with stakeholders to demonstrate prototypes, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions
    • Convert successful prototypes into secure, tested, documented, and supportable internal products and production solutions
    • Evaluate emerging AI, automation, integration, and enterprise platform capabilities through hands‑on experimentation
    • Develop reusable technical components and patterns that accelerate future implementations
  • End‑to‑End Implementation
    • Translate business and process requirements into technical designs, prototypes, implementation plans, and production solutions
    • Perform technical discovery to understand systems, data, APIs, dependencies, constraints, security requirements, and implementation risks
    • Own assigned solutions through development, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, stabilization, and transition to ongoing support
    • Coordinate technical activities with business teams, IT, system owners, vendors, and implementation partners
    • Develop and execute technical testing, resolve defects, support user acceptance testing, and troubleshoot implementation issues
    • Support production deployments and provide post‑implementation stabilization and knowledge transfer
  • Enterprise System Implementations
    • Participate in enterprise platform and business‑system implementations, providing hands‑on technical expertise throughout the implementation lifecycle
    • Build and configure integrations, automations, workflows, AI capabilities, and system functionality required for implementations
    • Work with implementation partners and vendors to validate technical configurations, interfaces, integrations, and data flows
    • Coordinate and troubleshoot technical dependencies across systems
    • Help ensure new enterprise platforms integrate effectively with the organization’s broader application, data, automation, and AI environment
  • Governance, Security, and Quality
    • Implement established security, privacy, responsible AI, data‑use, testing, documentation, and change‑control requirements
    • Build appropriate logging, monitoring, human oversight, exception handling, and operational controls into solutions
    • Partner with Information Security, IT, Legal, Quality, system owners, and business stakeholders as required
    • Create technical documentation, support materials, implementation records, and knowledge‑transfer documentation
  • Collaboration and Technical Enablement
    • Communicate technical approaches, dependencies, risks, progress, and implementation issues to business and technical stakeholders
    • Demonstrate solutions and prototypes and incorporate stakeholder feedback into development
    • Share reusable technical approaches, components, lessons learned, and implementation practices with other team members
    • Provide hands‑on technical support and guidance to analysts, system administrators, process owners, and implementation teams
    • Contribute technical expertise to transformation initiatives while working within established enterprise architecture and technology standards
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in systems integration, enterprise applications, software or low‑code development, intelligent automation, AI enablement, or related technical roles
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience building, configuring, integrating, testing, deploying, or supporting enterprise technology solutions
  • Hands‑on experience with AI‑enabled workflows, copilots, intelligent agents, retrieval‑augmented solutions, generative AI applications, or similar AI technologies
  • Experience with enterprise systems and platforms such as ERP, CRM, Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Dynamics, Salesforce, Freshworks, or comparable technologies
  • Experience working with REST APIs, authentication, data flows, connectors, integration workflows, and related integration technologies
  • Experience developing proofs of concept, prototypes, automations, integrations, or internal technology solutions
  • Ability to translate business requirements and ambiguous problems into practical technical solutions
  • Ability to work across development, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support
  • Understanding of human + AI workflows, including prompts, tools, knowledge sources, guardrails, evaluations, exception handling, and human oversight
  • Experience participating in enterprise application or cross‑functional technology implementations
  • Strong problem‑solving, technical documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments preferred
  • Experience in life sciences, healthcare, GxP, SOX, or similarly regulated environments preferred
  • Occasional travel required for meetings, training, and conferences

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, operations, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
  • Cloud, Microsoft, AI, automation, integration, or enterprise application certifications a plus
