Job summary

Cook Children's Health Care System in Fort Worth, TX, seeks a Formula Room Tech to manage enteral formula orders and recipe preparation across neonatal to adult patients. You will stock, deliver, and rotate formula supplies while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The role requires 2–3 years in food service or similar, strong math and communication skills, and physical ability to handle heavy carts. Schedule includes 4, 10-hour shifts with alternating weekends and occasional night work.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• 2-3 years' experience in institutional or commercial food service and/or customer service
• Demonstrated knowledge of weights and measures, perform mathematical calculations used in recipe conversions.
• Must be able to follow and relay oral and detailed written instructions; effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform duties throughout shift that require standing, walking, pushing up to 400# rolling carts, pulling, stooping, lifting up to 50# containers.
• Effective customer service skills.
• Ability to perform detailed assignments, follow directions, work under pressure, readily adapt to change in routine and work assignments, and relate to caregivers, families, and inter- and intra-departmental staff.
• Experience working with computers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process enteral formula orders for patients (neonatal through adolescent to adult).
• Develop recipes according to physicians' orders and prepare enteral formula.
• Deliver and stock enteral formula in patient care areas to meet unit needs.
• Order, receive and stock formula-related items; maintain inventory levels and quality standards.
• Maintain cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work area.
• Assist Formula Room Supervisor in daily operations and quality improvement activities.
