Jefferson University Physicians seeks a Surgical Scheduler to courteously and professionally schedule inpatient/outpatient procedures and surgeries, supporting the Jefferson Experience by prioritizing prompt, courteous patient interactions.

Key focus areas include accurate insurance verification, pre-procedure communication, and adherence to HIPAA and regulatory standards to ensure smooth scheduling and positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients/visitors.
• Ability to process and interpret data.
• Ability to multi task while managing a time sensitive workload.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Collect and review patient insurance information including prior authorizations and referrals.
• Completes pre-procedure calls and confirms appointment times with patients.
• Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
