Job summary

SCENT Surgical Center and SENTA Partners are seeking an RN for Pre-Op/PACU to deliver high-quality care in an ENT and allergy setting in Columbia, SC. The RN will perform preoperative assessment and postoperative recovery, ensuring compassionate patient-focused care aligned with organizational standards.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, post-op education, chart reviews, and adherence to safety logs; strong teamwork and EHR proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program; BSN preferred.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in outpatient or specialty clinic setting.
• At least 1 year experience in PACU required.
• BLS, CPR, PALS, and ACLS certification required.
• Strong clinical skills with knowledge of ENT conditions and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Takes ownership of the patient pre- and post-surgery, including assessment and documentation.
• Reports abnormalities to anesthesiologist and/or surgeon as needed.
• Provides post-surgery care education to patient and family.
• Performs chart reviews before charts are completed and scanned into the PMS.
• Participates in quality and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensures equipment is in proper operating order and reports issues.
• Completes required quality and maintenance logs.
• Cleans and restocks equipment at end of day for next surgeries.
• Reports supply needs and low inventory to Charge Nurse.
• Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, AAOA and company policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
