Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records while clinical duties include taking

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification required for SC.
• CPR Certification preferred (required for South Carolina).

Responsabilidades

• Interacts professionally with patients.
• Accompanies and settles patients in the exam room before the physician's visit.
• Takes vitals (BP, pulse, temp, weight, height) and enters into EMR.
• Obtains medication lists and verifies allergies at each visit.
• Performs medication reconciliation.
• Documents patient history and chief complaint clearly.
• Draws blood and labels specimens for the lab.
• Administers intramuscular injections and notes completion in EHR.
