Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting) required
• Maintains current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification and relevant MA certifications (CCMA/CMA/CMAC/NCMA/NRCMA/NRCAMA/RMA) as applicable within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Supports professional communication with patients and families.
• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents treatments and patient education according to policies.
• Schedules and coordinates specialty testing or consultations as needed.
• Handles calls with sound clinical judgment and enters orders into the EMR under provider direction.
