Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide inpatient and ED consults, outpatient visits, and perioperative care under the supervision of a licensed physician. You will assist with procedures, wound care, and participate in daily rounds within the otolaryngology service.

The role supports the academic mission to train otolaryngology residents, requiring teamwork with physicians, nurses, and other staff to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of graduate study in an AMA approved Physician Assistant program.
• Current registration as Physician Assistant in the State of Rhode Island.
• Ability to apply post-surgical training to patient care with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record detailed medical histories and perform physical examinations.
• Provide inpatient and ED consults, outpatient visits, and pre/post-operative care.
• Assist in procedures and wound care; coordinate with the ENT team.
• Enter orders and document in the EMR; participate in rounds and care planning.
• Perform credentialed procedures as outlined by medical staff requirements.
