Job summary

Alaska Pacific University seeks an Admissions Counselor to drive enrollment targets across Alaska and the Lower 48. You will manage the prospective student pipeline from inquiry to enrollment, building strategic relationships with schools, organizations, and families.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of college admissions processes and degree programs.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, databases, CRM systems, and student information systems.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to adapt style to diverse audiences.
• Ability to build productive relationships and influence decisions through trust and credibility.
• Skill in working successfully with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Meets or exceeds assigned enrollment targets and KPIs.
• Develops and executes territory-specific recruitment plans with measurable objectives.
• Identifies and recruits potential students through targeted outreach and territory analysis.
• Assesses opportunities and implements effective recruitment plans based on best practices.
• Develops and maintains relationships with high schools, community colleges, businesses, and organizations.
• Travels within Alaska and the Lower 48 to represent APU at college fairs and events.
• Makes presentations to appropriate groups and maintains contact with counselors and partners.
• Proactively reaches out to prospective students throughout the application lifecycle.
• Maintains personalized contact with students and directs them to campus resources.
• Assists students in identifying appropriate academic programs and coordinates campus tours.
• Tracks and reports data on student contact, response rates, and recruitment outcomes.
• Maintains records of recruitment activities in the CRM and SIS.
• Collaborates with faculty, Registrar, and Student Financial Services to support admission and matriculation.
