Job summary

Americanfidelity is seeking a Database Developer to query data from Oracle/MS SQL Server databases and support Enrollment EDI processing for the Enrollment Solutions department. You will design and operate EDI workflows and ensure timely data delivery.

The role requires 3-5 years in database development, strong ETL/SQL skills, and knowledge of EDI technologies. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and effective communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; 4+ years experience in database development in lieu of degree
• 3-5 years experience in database development or similar roles
• Experience enrolling or payroll systems desired
• Proficient in ETL processes and SQL development
• Strong knowledge of EDI technology, tactics and processes
• Ability to work independently or in a team and adapt to new tools
• Good communication of ideas and status updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Familiar with department databases (Access, SQL Server) and project management methodologies

Educations/Certifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science or related area of study; 4+ years experience in database development type work in lieu of degree

• Skilled in developing ETL and SQL processes that are efficient and meet the expectations of the department.
• Strong knowledge of EDI technology, tactics and processes.

• Good at communicating ideas, specifications and status updates to both technical and non-technical professionals.
• Knowledgeable of department-level databases (Access, SQL Server, etc.).
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and highly motivated.
• Skilled in the development of queries and stored procedures through SQL scripts.
• Efficiently work and produce results within the structure of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile/Scrum, Waterfall).
• Demonstrate commitment to meeting organizational, department and team goals and objectives.
• Knowledge of software development practices.
• Strong focus on deadlines and deliverables.
