Job summary

HealthOne Alliance in Dalton, GA seeks an Enrollment & Billing Representative to ensure accurate enrollment and billing for individual and group health policies and the administration of Health Reimbursement Arrangements.

You will handle enrollment/billing inquiries, update records, and support compliance with HIPAA and company policies. A 1–3 year relevant background and Excel/Word skills are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework in business/health administration preferred.
• 1–3 years general work experience.
• 1 year health plan experience preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance terms and concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.

Responsibilities

• Processes enrollments from multiple sources (paper, email, fax, electronic 834 enrollments).
• Processes billing, invoices, corrections, and payments for individuals, groups, and ancillary plans.
• Processes terminations for non-payment per policy.
• Researches appeals, DOl complaints, and other grievances related to eligibility, enrollment, and billing.
• Updates and reconciles enrollment and billing data using defined processes.
• Responds to questions from internal and external parties.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and professional conduct.

JOB PURPOSE The Enrollment & Billing Representative is responsible for the accurate enrollment and billing processes for individual and group health insurance policies, ancillary insurance policies and the administration of Health Reimbursement Arrangements. Maintains related documents, updates corresponding records and is responsible for responding to enrollment and billing queries based on defined policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Processes enrollments from a variety of sources, including paper enrollment, emailed and faxed enrollments, and electronic (834) enrollments
• Processes billing, invoices, invoice corrections, and payments for individual, group, and ancillary plan members
• Processes terminations for non-payment according to Company policies and procedures
• Researches and responds to appeals, HICS tickets, DOI complaints, and other grievances related to eligibility, enrollment, and billing
• Uses defined process and procedures to update and reconcile enrollment and billing data
• Responds to questions and concerns from internal and external parties
• Researches and resolves basic enrollment and billing related issues
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Consistently demonstrates compliance with HIPAA regulations, professional conduct, and ethical practice
• Works to encourage and promote Company culture throughout the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• College coursework in business, health administration or related field preferred
• One to three years’ general work experience
• Minimum of one year of health plan experience preferred
• Familiarity with insurance terms and concepts
• Intermediate skill with Microsoft Excel and Word

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Moderate to significant amount of stress in meeting deadlines and dealing with day-to-day responsibilities. Must be able to drive a vehicle and daytime/overnight travel as required.
