Job summary

Cal Poly, a nationally-ranked public university in San Luis Obispo, CA, seeks an Admissions Officer to manage full-cycle recruitment and admission processes for freshmen, transfer, and graduate students.

Under supervision, you will collaborate with departments, advise students on pathways to meet degree requirements, analyze data to improve yield and forecasting, and support operational efficiency in admissions.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of research and interview techniques, and the principles of individual and group behavior.
• Ability to obtain factual and interpretative information through interviews.
• Ability to advise students individually and in groups.
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions and carry through actions having implications with regard to other program or service areas.
• Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, Admission's practices and procedures, Cal Poly's catalog, CAM, and various manuals and publications.

Responsibilities

• Admit freshmen, transfer, and graduate students, identifying major requirements and advising on pathways to meet GE requirements.
• Assist in developing reports and analyses to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with university departments and offices to present programs and admission practices to various audiences.
