Job summary

YMCA of the USA is seeking a Base Teacher to help plan and lead enriching activities for before and after school programs in Hagerstown. Under the Base Director, you will support daily classroom activities, ensure program and facility use plans are followed, and help maintain MSDE compliance and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and possess 90 hours or 90 hours in Early Childhood with credential plan and two years of related experience.
• MSDE regulations and standards experience or exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing unit lesson plans.
• Assist with implementing daily classroom activities.
• Ensure parents/guardians sign in and out daily.
• Cultivate positive relationships with coworkers and parents.
• Create and maintain a safe, attractive learning environment.
• Expand job knowledge and classroom skills continuously.
• Assist with organizing center events (field trips, school pictures).
• Follow childcare policies and program operations.
