POSITION OVERVIEW

The Enrichment Staff supports the work of the organization by providing high-quality enrichment and educational programming for children, youth, and residents living in affordable housing communities. Under the direction of the Program Services Supervisor, Enrichment Staff create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment that fosters learning, social development, and community connection.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Assist in planning, leading, and implementing daily enrichment, educational, recreational, and cultural activities for children and youth.
  • Ensure that all activities are age-appropriate, inclusive, and supportive of participants’ developmental needs.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all participants by following safety guidelines, supervising group activities, and addressing behavioral issues as needed.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with residents, youth, families, and community partners.
  • Support program goals related to academic enrichment, health and wellness, financial education, and community building.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, enrollment, and activity records as required.
  • Participate in training, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist with program events, family engagement nights, and community-building activities.
  • Assures the staff to student ratio of 1:20 at all times.
  • Works directly with participants to maintain interest in the program.
  • Maintains appropriate physical and behavioral limits while providing an enjoyable and safe environment.
  • Promotes the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
  • Supervises children at all times during scheduled program rotation.
  • Serve as a role model, demonstrating respect, responsibility, and positive behavior at all times
  • Immediately advises supervisor of any concerns regarding program participants.
  • Communicates with program participants in a positive manner at all times.
  • Communicates with Supervisor in advance if unable to attend assigned schedule and arranges for a qualified replacement instructor if possible.
  • Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers
  • Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
  • Teamwork - Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers
  • Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education, child development, recreation, or related field preferred.

Required Technical / Other Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to pass a background check and TB test.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow supervision
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse populations and create an inclusive environment.
Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Child abuse training certification must be completed within 2 weeks of hire and maintained every two years.
  • Harassment training certification must be completed within 2 weeks of hire and maintained every two years.
