Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools is seeking staff to help run youth, adult, and disability activities. The role focuses on implementing enrichment programs, promoting inclusivity, and ensuring safety and compliance in all district activities.

The position emphasizes experience in caring for children, ability to motivate and engage participants, and collaboration with Adult Services and Youth Development Coordinators.

Qualifications

• Age: Must be at least 16 years old.
• Experience: Prefer at least one year of experience caring for children.
• Follow policies on confidentiality and mandated reporting.
• Ability to mediate, problem solve, and redirect students in a positive way: motivate, support, serve as a positive role model and be energetic, creative, active, and friendly.

• Implement out of school time enrichment programs for youth, adult, and/or adults with disabilities.
• Work with Adult Services and/or Youth Development Coordinator to obtain supplies, materials, and equipment needed for activities.
• Cultivate an inclusive, safe, supportive environment for participants.
• Communicate resources needed to make reasonable accommodations for participants with exceptionalities and special considerations to Adult Services and/or Youth Development Coordinator.
• Assist with promoting programs within the community to encourage registration.
• Follow all district safety protocols for in-person, on-site activities.
• Ensure that district space is returned to its original condition once activities are complete.
