TVCCA in Norwich, CT is seeking an Assistant Teacher to help plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

The role emphasizes health, safety, and nutrition education integrated into daily activities; you will care for center children, keep areas clean, and follow all policies; responsibilities in the absence of Head Teacher; compassionate approach to families.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
• Encourage self-esteem and independence for social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of each child.
• Integrate health, safety and nutritional education into curriculum planning.
• Care for center children and supervise activities, ensuring safety and cleanliness of classroom and playground equipment.
• Learn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures.
• Provide program operations support in the absence of the Head Teacher.
• Demonstrate compassion for children and families from all backgrounds.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Teacher **** is responsible to assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum. Encourage self-esteem and independence for the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of each child. Ensure that health, safety and nutritional education is integrated into the overall curriculum planning. Responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of center children, keeping classroom and playground equipment clean, neat, and orderly. Must learn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures. Responsible for the program operations in the absence of the Head Teacher. Must have compassion for the needs of children and families from all backgrounds.

Pay rates are as follows:

• $19.50 Enrolled in a CDA or degree program
• $19.75 CDA and 12 ECE credits
• $20.50 Associate's Degree in ECE or relevant field with 12 ECE credits
• $21.50 Bachelor's Degree in ECE or relevant field with 12 ECE credits
