Qualifications

• NYSED Certification: ESOL
• Minimum of four years of full-time teaching experience (preferred)
• Prior teaching in a CTE setting (preferred)
• Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills
• Experience teaching in underserved areas (preferred)
• Experience working with students with interrupted formal education (SIFE) (preferred)
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Providing pull-out and push-in support for English Language Learners (ELLs) in CTE programs
• Providing curricular support to CTE teachers who have ELLs in their classes
• Establishing and maintaining working relationships with CTE teachers to support student success
• Becoming familiar with curriculum maps and requirements for each program that has embedded English credit
• Providing direct instruction to small groups of students and/or support for content classes containing ELLs
• Advising teachers on modifying and accommodating curriculum for ELL students
• Administering New York State mandated assessments for ELL students, as applicable
