Job summary

Ruppert Landscape Co. in Houston, TX seeks an Enhancement Crew Member to perform landscape installation and maintenance tasks under the Field Manager.

You will plant trees and shrubs, install irrigation, drainage, lighting, and help with hardscape projects. This is a 40–45 hour week in a fast-paced outdoor environment; safety and teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape enhancement and installation duties as directed by the onsite Field Manager.
• Install landscape materials, including trees, shrubs, perennials, landscape lighting, and irrigation systems.
• Assist with the installation of hardscape and outdoor living features, including pavers, concrete flatwork, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, decks, fire and water features, and complete landscape planting packages.
• Operate hand and power tools to perform tasks such as grading, installation, bed preparation, and mulching.
• Safely operate a variety of landscape and construction equipment, including bed edgers, sod cutters, rototillers, tractors, skid steers, excavators, mini excavators, and other walk-behind equipment.
• Perform site preparation, grading, drainage installation, and other tasks necessary to complete landscape enhancement projects.
• Work safely and effectively as part of a team while following company policies, procedures, and applicable safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and contribute to a clean and organized job site.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Where You Fit In

As an Enhancement Crew Member, you will perform a variety of landscape installation and enhancement tasks—including planting, grading, mulching, irrigation, drainage, and installation of landscape features—while working collaboratively with a team under the direction of a Field Manager. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, professionalism, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

• Physically capable of routinely lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 pounds outdoors in variable weather conditions
• Energetic, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions
• Consistently report to work on time and maintain dependable attendance
• Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• No prior industry experience is required; training will be provided for motivated and dependable candidates

Hours / OT Eligibility:

Typically 40–45 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday availability required during the spring season
