Job description

The Landscape Construction Crew Leader will directly oversee a 2 to 5 member crew. The Crew Leader will see all projects from beginning to end and ensure their completion with efficiency, safety, and accuracy. Responsibilities include mobilization and demobilization in a timely manner, managing and maintaining job sites effectively, and ensuring materials are delivered to the job sites at the right times to avoid work impediments.

A successful Landscape Construction Crew Leader will need to be proficient in renovation/enhancements, irrigation, plant identification, hardscapes, retaining walls, and installations. They will also be expected to train and monitor the crew members under their supervision, instilling safety, skill, and ethics to maintain a healthy operating crew.

Responsibilities
Safety Maintenance and Training
  1. Ensure that all equipment and trailers are loaded or attached properly and meet DOT specifications.
  2. Maintain trucks, trailers, and equipment regularly to prevent field failures and safety hazards.
  3. Be aware of aging tools that may need replacement or repair.
  4. Ensure that crew members do not exceed physical limitations outlined in the company policy handbook.
  5. Train crew members to perform specified work properly and with care.
Requirements
  1. At least 2 years of labor experience.
  2. At least 1 year of Crew Leader experience.
  3. Must be able to work up to 50 hours per week if needed.
  4. Positive attitude and initiative.
  5. Understanding of management and physical labor.
  6. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills
  1. Fieldwork experience.
  2. Sales experience.
Compensation

$20 - $25/hr, depending on experience.
