BASIS Phoenix South is seeking qualified candidates for a 5th Grade English/Writing Teacher for the 2025/2026 school year!
Our Phoenix South campus is a Title I School. What does that mean?
“Title I” refers to schools that serve a high percentage of students from low-income families, and they can be found in both urban and rural communities throughout the United States. Through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, Title I schools qualify for additional funds and support from government agencies to help ensure that all children have the opportunity to be successful.
Teachers are drawn to teach in Title I schools for a variety of reasons. Many want to make a difference for high-needs students and/or give back to their own communities. Others have been inspired by their own influential teachers and want to be “that one teacher” for their own students.
The role of the English/Writing Teacher (SET) is to ensure the day-to-day exceptional education of students by preparing and facilitating subject-specific lesson plans. Subject Expert Teachers implement the established BASIS Curriculum while tailoring specific topics to their knowledge and passion for the subject.
BASIS Elementary Teachers are knowledgeable, passionate and believe in transforming education. Our K-3 (or K-4, depending on campus location) classrooms are co-taught with two elementary school teachers co-creating with students at all times. Our Subject Expert Teachers (SETs) are responsible for cultivating and implementing grade and subject-specific lessons plans. The SET is also in charge of daily instruction and collaborates with the Learning Expert Teacher (LETs) to meet students’ academic needs. Our elementary teachers love teaching and our students love learning. BASIS teachers celebrate elementary education and, guided by the belief that any child can excel, our elementary teachers' deep pedagogical expertise ensures each student receives a world-class education.
BASIS Charter Schools embrace subject expertise and passion in the classroom!
Our teachers are part of a collaborative and professional learning community. All schools use the acclaimed BASIS Curriculum, with teachers having the autonomy to create dynamic, high-level lessons that foster enthusiasm and prepare students for higher education, careers, and global citizenship. BASIS teachers focus on engaged teaching and teamwork, creating an inspiring and supportive school environment.
